While my son was serving a mission in Torreon, Mexico, I wrote a compilation of musings that related events, insights, memories, activities, observations, and thoughts to the scriptures. I could easily see that everything that happens in life has spiritual overtones.
From the back cover of the book: “This volume reflects a few of the author’s thoughts and insights while her son was spending “the best two years” of his life serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Torreon, Mexico. Turning to the scriptures as a way of better coping with his absence, she was soon reminded that whether a person needed a lesson in faith, a reminder to be grateful, or a proverb on the value of hard work, she could find the answer within these divine pages.”

Update: This book is now in ebook form too and can now be downloaded to your Kindle. What’s next in the world of publishing???
As of April 2012, Eve’s Sisters is now available from Inspiring Voices, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and yours truly.
What makes Eves’s Sisters unique is that it applies psychological priniciples to the women of the Old and New Testaments while comparing their lives to those of the women who live today. Issues of esteem, rejection, abuse, deceit, and jealousy are considered as are the virtues most often extolled in the women of the Bible. Esther’s courage, Hannah’s faith, and Dorcas’s compassion are but a few of the more positve of those whose lives and deeds are spotlighted.
